From time to time we release updates for the DeFi Wallet to improve its performance and integrated protocols. When a new update is available, a card will appear on the DeFi Wallet page inviting you to proceed: the operation takes only a few seconds and a quick security confirmation, as this is the wallet of which you own the keys.
Updates can be of two types. Recommended ones can be postponed without any issues, allowing the wallet to continue working normally. Required ones, however, are essential for operations: until you update, operations (sending, receiving, swapping and lending) will be temporarily suspended, while your cryptocurrencies and lending positions will remain secure where they are.
Before you begin
Make sure you have updated the app to the latest version: updating the wallet is separate from updating the app, but it may require it.
Steps for the update
- Open the DeFi Wallet page. At the top you will find the Update your Wallet card (recommended update) or Required update (necessary update).
- Tap Update or Update Wallet. If the update is recommended, you can also choose Later or close the card: we will show it to you again the next time you open it.
- Confirm with Face ID or fingerprint, or with the security method you have set up.
- Wait a few moments and the wallet will be fully operational again.
Why a security confirmation is needed
The DeFi Wallet is self-custodial: the keys are yours and no modification to the wallet can take place without your authorisation, not even an update released by Young Platform. The confirmation is precisely for this. No Young Platform operator will ever ask you to confirm an update by phone, via email or chat, nor to communicate the wallet password to do so: updates are only confirmed from the app, when the card appears on the DeFi Wallet page.
