Setting up DeviceKey

This guide explains how to enable DeviceKey as a two-factor authentication (2FA) method for your crypto account on Young Platform.

Before you start

Make sure you have:

  • The Young Platform app updated to the latest available version.
  • The screen lock system active on your phone (fingerprint, Face ID or PIN).
  • The phone number associated with your account reachable to receive a verification SMS.

Activation procedure (crypto account)

  1. Open the Young Platform app and access the Profile section by tapping the icon at the top left.
  2. Go to Access and security.
  3. Select Two-factor authentication.
  4. From the available options, choose DeviceKey.
  5. Read the information page and tap the Enable DeviceKey button to proceed.
  6. Enter the code generated by Google Authenticator, if active, or the security code you will receive via SMS.
  7. Authenticate the operation with Face ID, fingerprint or your device's PIN.

DeviceKey is now active. From now on, you will use your phone's unlock system to authorise logins and operations, including on Young Platform Pro: credentials and security methods are shared between Young Platform and Pro.

What happens to your previous 2FA method

The method you used before activating DeviceKey — Google Authenticator, OTP via SMS or OTP via email — is not deleted: you won't lose access. It remains automatically saved as a backup authentication method, and you will find it again if you revoke DeviceKey in the future or choose "Use another method" on the login screen.

Availability for the payment account

DeviceKey is currently available for the crypto account. By the end of Q3 2026, it will also be configurable for the Young payment account.

In case of opening a Conto Young after configuring DeviceKey If DeviceKey is already active for your crypto account, you won't have to do anything: the payment account will automatically adopt this authentication system as soon as the account is activated.

For existing Conto Young holders Once the new feature for the payment account is released, you will be asked to activate the DeviceKey two-factor authentication system directly during the login procedure.
