When you open the DeFi Wallet, the notice "Wallet locked" may appear. This happens in two situations: when you install the Young Platform app on a new device and every time you log back into the app after signing out. In both cases the solution is the same: enter your wallet password, the one you created during activation.
The lock is not a technical issue, it is the way your private keys stay secure. The keys belong to you and are stored encrypted on your device: Young Platform does not hold them and cannot use them for you. Unlocking the wallet means decrypting them with the password, an operation that takes place on your phone and that only you can do.
Before you begin
- You need the wallet password, not the one for your Young Platform account: they are two separate credentials and the second does not replace the first.
- The lock only affects operations (sending, receiving, swapping and position management): your crypto stays where it is and lending positions continue to accrue yields.
- Only unlock the wallet on your own initiative, when you are the one opening the app. No Young Platform operator will ever ask you to unlock the wallet or share your password.
- If you haven't done so yet, enable the Google Drive backup as soon as the wallet is unlocked: you need it to recover your keys if you lose your phone. See the guide How to set up Google Drive backup.
Steps to unlock the wallet
- Open the DeFi Wallet page: at the top you will find the Wallet locked card.
- Tap Unlock Wallet.
- Enter your wallet password in the Password field. If you want to check what you have typed, tap the eye icon.
- Tap Unlock Wallet again and wait a few moments: the app decrypts the keys on the device and the wallet becomes operational again.
