The "Maker and Taker" model is used to differentiate fees between trade orders that provide liquidity to the market (maker orders) and those that take liquidity away from the market (taker orders).
Maker
When you place an order that does not match an existing order in the order book, you become a "Maker" (because you create a new order). In this case, you add liquidity to the market and so you are charged the "Maker fee".
Taker
When you place an order and it is matched with an existing order in the order book, you become a "Taker". This is because you have completed someone else's buy or sell order and therefore "took" an order from the order book. In this case, you are taking liquidity from the market, and you will be charged the "Taker fee".
Young Platform Pro fees
Taker and maker fees are not to be added together. Depending on the type of order you place, you will pay either taker or maker fees.
