Young Platform's DeFi services are available in the app only. To access them, you need to activate the DeFi Wallet.
Setting it up takes just a few minutes and involves 4 stages:
- Completing a short questionnaire
- Reviewing the Terms and Conditions
- Choosing a password
- Choosing an authentication method (Face ID or fingerprint)
Before you start
- Download the Young Platform app.
- Complete identity verification so that your Young Platform account is fully active.
- If you already have a Young Platform account, make sure your app is updated to the latest version.
- Have a safe place ready to store your wallet password (a password manager, for example). If you lose it, nobody can recover it, not even Young Platform.
How to activate it
- Log in to your Young Platform account.
- From the bottom menu, go to Crypto.
- Tap Discover on the DeFi Wallet card.
- The DeFi Wallet page opens. Tap Activate Wallet.
- Read the overview of the service, then tap Activate.
- Answer the three questions in the questionnaire. The confirm button only becomes active once you've selected an answer.
- On the Documentation screen, open the Terms and Conditions, scroll to the end of the document and tap Accept; do the same for the Risk Disclosure. Tick the two acknowledgement boxes and tap Confirm.
- Create your wallet password in the Create password and Confirm password fields, then tap Confirm. Your password must be at least 8 characters long and include a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a special character.
- Store your password somewhere safe and read the notice. Tick "I've saved my password in a safe place" and tap Continue.
- Authorise the creation of your wallet with Face ID or your fingerprint.
Your DeFi Wallet is ready.
Password
The password you set for your DeFi Wallet must be different from the login details (email and password) of your Young Platform account. Creating it doesn't change or replace your main login password. Its purpose is to add an extra layer of protection and to unlock access to your DeFi Wallet in specific situations, such as changing your device, reinstalling the app or after a long period of inactivity.
Key backup (recommended)
Once you've activated your DeFi Wallet, we recommend storing an encrypted copy of your DeFi Wallet keys on Google Drive. For step-by-step instructions, see the guide "Key backup".
